Lessons usually involve understanding something that wasn't understood before. But sometimes the lesson is only the acceptance that it doesn't make sense now, and to be able to move on without having figured out every last reason or detail. Some lessons are two-fold, and it may be many years before the second part unfolds, revealing the answers to the first.
