Bloom

The bloom may be brief but the memory of its beauty will last a lifetime.
~Doe Zantamata
Some lives which grace the Earth with their beauty only are here to stay for a very short time. It's sad, because we want them to be here as long as we are, and we miss them from the moment they've passed until the moment we do. No matter how brief, carry the memory of the joy they brought to you. If it had been you who passed, you would not want them to mourn your loss the rest of their days. They don't want that for you, either.

Life goes by in a flash

Life goes by in a flash.
Make time for the moments you'll want to remember.

Being there

Being there for a friend is one of the greatest gifts you can give.
Another one is allowing them to be there for you, too.

Appreciate

For a brighter world:
Appreciate the things that you thought were amazing the first time you saw them, but somehow forgot just how amazing they are.

For better relationships:
Appreciate the people who you thought were amazing the first time you saw them, but somehow forgot just how amazing they are.

Look for reasons for your goal

Choose your goal:

1. Give up
2. Get through

Look for reasons that support the goal you chose, not the other one.

Anywhere is perfect

Anywhere in the world is the perfect place to be as long as you like who you're with (including yourself).

Self-Empowering Reminder

What if your best friend came to you today and told you life had gotten too hard and they're just too tired, too depressed to go on? What would you tell them? Write it all down in a letter and keep it in a safe place. If you ever feel that way, read it. Those are your true beliefs. When things get really, really tough, it will help to have that powerful reminder nearby.

Accepting and Believing

There's a big difference between accepting how things are now and believing that's how they'll always be. The first frees you, the second limits you. Both are choices that are up to you to make.

To enjoy

You do not need to count the grains of sand or the drops of water before you can enjoy a day at the beach. You do not need to know everything before you can enjoy your life.

Healthy Boundaries

If someone doesn't respect when you ask for some space, it's time to give them more space, not more time.
~Doe Zantamata

Spark of Hope

Don't fan the flames of despair.
Ignite the spark of hope instead.
~Doe Zantamata

Same, new world

Look for beauty in ordinary things, and your world will become amazing.

Tragedy

Tragedy shatters innocence, but it need not destroy hope. Resolve to make things better. No matter the size of the result, the effort to improve is they key to a better tomorrow.

Change and changes

Sometimes, you have to get to a point of total frustration before you'll be ready to make a big change. Don't wait for what anyone else should do but hasn't yet and likely won't. Instead, look for what is up to you and what you can do to change the situation for the better...
even if it means walking away entirely.

Behind those eyes

Behind each set of eyes lives another wandering soul who, under different circumstances, could have been you.

Being, trying, and becoming

Being your best, and trying your best are the same thing.
The longer you try your best, the better you will become.
Be patient but persistent.
~Doe Zantamata

Forgive and forward

Forgive whoever is to blame for the past.
Then, take responsibility for your own present and future.
~Doe Zantamata

The only thing you should give up

The only thing you should give up
is wondering if you should give up.
Don't waste your energy on doubts.
You'll need all of your energy to stay motivated.

Later in Life

Later in life, trust is always a choice.

The smallest things

Sometimes the smallest things are the most complex.

Do it

Do what you'll wish you would have done.
~Doe Zantamata

It's how you play the game.

Do you remember being told as a child, ”It's not whether you win or lose, it's how you play the game?” Well, that's just about the best advice for life that you can get. How do you play? You try your best. You are honest. If there's a foul you call foul even if people disagree. And no matter the odds against you, until that last buzzer sounds, you just don't give up. That's how you play the game.

Resolve.

Resolve to remain humble enough that every honest compliment or thank you is a surprise, received with appreciation. Resolve to remain hopeful enough that every disappointment is a surprise, received with acceptance from that person, but never extended to be expected from all people.

Regret prevention strategy

Regret prevention strategy:

Decide what you won't compromise on in life and relationships.

Then, don't.

The Promise

There is promise in every new dawn.

Promise of a new start, new chances, new opportunities, and new hope.

Always remember the promise.

Love and Courage

Loving and supporting someone is not the same as loving and supporting someone's actions if they are harming themselves or others.

The first, encourages, the second, enables. It takes courage to say, ”I love you, but I can't support what you're doing.”

But that will give them incentive to change much more than hoping they'll change ever will. Easier said than done, but better done than only wished for.

Free to be

When you free yourself of negative energy,
you free yourself
to be yourself....
the very best self you can be.
